Roosevelt District & Homes For Sale
The Roosevelt District is one of the oldest groupings of neighborhoods in Phoenix and it is the first historic district in Phoenix, entering the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. These days it's a well kept beautiful neighborhood closest to Downtown Phoenix: it's as urban as single family homes can get.

The Roosevelt District is a dynamic very walkable area with mature trees, green lawn and a green buffer between the side-walks and the street. It's home to artists, professionals and people from all walks of life: a friendly supportive neighborhood full of small local businesses and a very unique character. Read more

"The Roosevelt neighborhood reflected the early efforts of Phoenicians to create a genteel society, the dusty frontier town emerging into the urban center of the Southwest." (RAA)
The Roosevelt District is a name grouping of neighborhoods split by the I-10 freeway. They grew out of the earliest suburbs which were developed for the elites of Phoenix society. The neighborhood was home to some of the most prominent residents in Phoenix: governors, mayors, publishers, entrepreneurs, leaders and supreme court justices made this their home.
It located near an array of amenities and cultural landmarks and much of it pedestrian friendly: the urban core includes places like municipal landmarks, sports arenas, the Orpheum & Herberger Theatre, the Science and Phoenix History Museums, Heritage Square, the Biomedical campus and Children's Art Museum, Civic Space Park across from ASU downtown makes for an easy commute up to the Arts District and Margaret T. Hance Park, Burton Barr public library, the Phoenix Art Museum and the Heard Museum. Many are within walking distance while others are quickly accessible via the Roosevelt Arts District Light Rail Station, another benefit of living here.
