Fairview Place Historic Homes
Fairview Place Historic District is in a cluster of other historic neighborhoods in central Phoenix. It's located near the Arizona State Fairgrounds and Encanto Park: McDowell north to Encanto Boulevard and 17th Avenue east to 15th Avenue.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in early 1994 and it's period of significance is 1924 to 1948. Read more

It was first developed in the 1920's and it was outside the city limits past the suburbs. Of course it is now in the bustling urban scene though it retains much of that roomy outside the city luster while being so close to everything central Phoenix has to offer.
The original plan for the neighborhood was to develop an "Americanized Dutch" style neighborhood. This was not realized as F.W. Mathieson wanted. The ranch home won out, but there are many other wonderful architectural styles here.
The neighborhood is composed of 342 homes. In the early 90's neighbors planted 360 trees in the parkways and now is the time to appreciate their foresight and fortitude.
There are 14 architectural styles represented here. Some of the architectural styles you'll see there include: Art Moderne, California Ranch, English Cottage, French Provincial, International, Bungalow, Tudor, Spanish Colonial and Cap Cod.
