2. Is your agent trained in Short Sale Transactions?

3. Can your agent provide proof of experience in short sales?

These are some of the questions you should ask the short sale listing agent you'll hire to sell your home and help you through the short sale process.

The implications of choosing the wrong people for a team can leave your credit in ruin and/or much worse. 

There are lots of designations out there purporting to promote agents as experts in short sales, but most of them don't even require an agent to have any sort of actual experiences with closing short sales to obtain the designations?  What type of service will you get from someone who has not done a short sale? Do you want to be the guinea pig? with you finances and credit at stake?

The MSSC designation or Master Short Sale Consultant, is one designtion which our partner Joanna Zajusz holds that requires at least 3 short sales for sellers - that means ones that acutally closed and were completed successfully. 

I still don't like the word 'Master' because it would take probably at least a hundred if not more short sale transactions to be anywhere close to a master and even then the processes are ever changing so it's a play where the rules change mid course.  Non the less, there is no substitue for a solid team with provable experiences in the short sale process.
