Cycling in Maricopa County For Pleasure, Transportation and Business: Our Role As Realtors.

The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) has produced a video to promote cycling in which we had participated.cycling in maricopa county

The video features many Metro Phoenix-area cyclists, including mayors from several cities, local cyclist and some businesses including us. I got very excited about the project, especially because it promotes cycling. The presentation, I'm sure, will entice many on the fence to at least try out cycling if not take it up as a significant mode of transportation, maybe even to and from work.

The video is excellent and exceptionally well produced by Gary Stafford at Midnight Sun Films: visually appealing, exciting and informative and at times surprising.

We got to participate because cycling is part of our business as Realtors.

We cycle to preview homes, to occasionally show homes with clients, explore neighborhoods and keep an eye on what's happening in Central Phoenix.

There is truly no better way to explore a neighborhood then cycling it. Walking is good, but it takes up too much time and you'll see almost nothing - especially that which is important about a community, in a car.

On a bicycle you get to see the homes in detail: are they cared for, empty or lived in, the styles and nuances often missed in a speedy car.  You get to meet the neighbors walking their dog or the guy mowing the lawn.  You get to see the special places which most people would avoid when riding a car.

When we started cycling to explore the city, so many more details started to come out and our appreciation of the nuances each area has grew.

Watch The Video:

You can watch the video on the MAG website here: I Ride! Bicycling in Maricopa County or it's been playing on the Phoenix Channel 11 and the the appropriate channels in each of the Maricopa County cities.
