Arcadia

Old water canals, mature citrus groves and beautiful older ranch homes and newer revival and French influenced architecture in Arcadia are just part of the attractions from a recent 32 mile urban bike ride which started at Lafayette Boulevard at 40th st. on my way to get a cup of coffee in Downtown Scottsdale.

This time the ride was oh so much more joyous because it was, at least for a while, next to a stream running along Lafayette Blvd.  

Well, not quite a stream but a small irrigation canal, part of the Arcadia Water Company, on the south side of the road.  None the less you don’t see too many such visual pleasures in Greater Phoenix.  

The other similar canal runs along the Central Corridor in Phoenix.

What is particularly nice about…

An icon of modernism in Phoenix just hit the market. Three Fountains is a complex of 59 town-homes in the very popular western end of Arcadia which itself is undoubtedly one of the most attractive and well located neighborhoods in the Phoenix valley.

This unit sits in the back where almost no noise from the sometimes busy 40th Street reaches it. 

It is also move in ready, but of course as most owners do, you can customize the look of it. The bones and clean lines offer many options for designers, though modern or modern contemporary fits best.

Three Fountains in the Arcadia Neighborhood at 4401 N. 40th St. just South of Campbell is considered by many a landmark project. 

It is a Phoenix mid century icon by well known architect Alfred N. Beadle.  There are just over 50 condominiums in this project.  They each have 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bath units with approximately 1,024 sf.

In recent months units have been selling in the mid $100's with a premium for remodeled and end units.
