Data Point
While browsing the cycling site rapha.cc I came across an article about cycling the steepest streets of San Francisco and followed links to Data Pointed is the home of artist and scientist Stephen Von Worley's data visualization research; a journal of interesting information imagery and news from around the world; and a place where you can spend a few minutes, have a laugh or two, and discover something new." 31.5% and 29% grade.
There is a beautiful visual map of the U.S Census data for population growth from 2000 to 2010.
I spent alot of time on Data Point and learned a bunch too.
Market Trends
The Cromford Report has published the mid month report in which, amongst others, they note,
It looks as though REOs will continue to lose market share as supply continues to fall. In particular, active HUD listings are today down to 274 having peaked at 1,243 at the end of January. HUD sales are generally at lower price points than the average REO so we have seen REO sales pricing reach a low point of $58.25 on May 20 and then bounce back above $60 as HUD sales reduce in number.
Considering we still have over 9% unemployment in Arizona - Map of U.S. unemployment data - I'm concerned that this process will probably drag on for a while. This economy is dependent on housing and housing is depending on jobs, but jobs won't come until housing improved in part. It's improving, but this viscous circle of dependency is not helping.

Innovation
Kickstarter is a really cool website. The idea is simple. It lets creative persons, artists and engineers crowd-source funding for their projects: not all succeed, but many go sky high. If nothing else it's a place to spark the imagination.
