A Rare Mid-Century Modern Home In The Windsor Square Historic District
Posted by Artur Ciesielski on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 at 7:52am.When you think of a historic neighborhood in Phoenix the architectural styles that come to mind are all sorts of revival or ranch homes, but modernism is not one of them, but a few neighborhood have at lease a few examples of modern homes and Windsor Square in North Central Phoenix happens to have three of them. One is currently for sale and I have to say it's one of the most intriguing homes in this part of town.

3 bedrooms and 2 bathroom - broken down into a home which is 2 bedrooms and one bath plus a guest home with 1 bedroom and 1 bath.
2,414 total square feet.
Built in 1950 and remodeled in 2005 this home is a bit inconspicuous in the front. It's hidden behind a rich well planned landscaped yard, but with a bit of looking around the modern elements jump out staring with the clean lines of the building, the flat roof line, the geometric entry door or the address marker and even the landscaping has clean lines and a geometric layout.
The home sits on a 14,000+ square foot lot which is quite large for being in urban Phoenix.
An additional plus is the urban location: Windsor Square is amongst the most beautiful of the Phoenix historic districts and well located at Central and Camelback, near a park ride light rail station.
The entire intersection is very walk friendly. It's got restaurants, shopping, businesses and transportation all near by.
The home is a rare treat and anyone seeking a modern home updated for contemporary living and an urban location and the established charm of a historic district will find this an attractive proposition.
